In my opinion you can see the diamonds better without flash, but I think that if you shine the light on the diamonds while taking a picture with flash the diamonds will be more sparkly.

These hair diamonds are available at accessory shops such as Claire's Accessories. On the back they have velcro texture so that they can grip onto your hair, but you have to push them on to make sure that they don't fall off while you are out.
